Application support and maintenance services:
- The first and foremost in this support category is the emergency response. When an application goes down or when it crashes, it causes the application to stop. Here, the support person immediately address the issue
- At times a logical error can make blunders in the application. The application may not completely crash but show irrelevant results. This is due to logical errors and can be rectified by the team.
- Fixing errors is another service offered. Though it is similar to the previous two, the severity level here is little low. It might be some code errors and hence need to fix the bug. These errors do not cause high risk during production, though it is still an error and hence has to be fixed instantly.
- Every business process works under software applications. When the users of these applications have queries, it is the duty of the app support team to clarify then and there. They might know ways to fix the problem, but in the worst case they approach the application support people. This happens commonly when new people fills up the recently vacated position. They might need time to cope with the team technically.
- Businesses are highly reliant on the IT systems and as it changes day to day. When your business evolves, your applications too change. Thus you need to change those applications that suit to the latest and current requirement. So the task of an application support team is to cope up with the environment change. The application has to be stable and accurate in all the environment.
